Eight public sources for Utah water data

 

Given several recent inquiries about where to find water data, I have compiled this list of a few common resources (listed alphabetically) which I have found particularly useful.


AGRC Water Data Resources

A one-stop shop for water-related geospatial data including watersheds, lakes, streams, floodplains, land use, and more.

National Climatic Data Center

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

A database of precipitation, temperature, weather radar, and other climate data. Query for specific data or use the mapping tool.

National Water-Use Information Program

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)

Every five years the USGS publishes water use data for the country. County-level data for various water-use categories are available for download.

Surface water, groundwater, and atmospheric data for 1.5 million sites throughout the country. Use the interactive map or browse specific categories.
